Problem. 

Knovva Acedemy is an K-12 online education company which includes 3 main product lines: Online AP Courses, College Counseling, and Model G20 Leadership Summit. The website should play a comprehensive role to introduce the products to the audience.   However, the previous website did not work well to showcase the product of Knovva and the resources from the company, nor to attract audience engagement. 

Goal

In order to increase brand awareness, grow audience engagement, and build a grassroots fundraising program, we need to redesign a more energetic website to showcase the product, resources and the work of the company.

Design Goal:

  • Create a clear information structure for the site that allows content to be easily accessed.

  • Provide audiences with a smooth browsing experience.

  • Design a visually appealing website that matches the branding guideline.

  • Provide flexible element/block templates that enable content editors to reuse on different pages.

Challenge

  • How to create an appealing visual design that aligned with the brand guidelines as well as meets the usability needs?

  • The design and development phases may overlap,  how to control deliverables to still meet the requirements?

  • How to balance the complexity of content editing and unique design styles?

Who Do We Design For?

Four primary audience groups: high school students, school teachers, students' parents, and potential agent partners.

Company's request:

  • To show the young and energetic impression of our product line, create young and interesting UI design in stead of a boring stereotype of education.

  • To make the whole site consistent but also flexibility on certain design elements, so that creative team members can regroup and reuse the elements on different pages.

Four primary audience need:

  • As students: I need to find out what product fits my need and anything new and interesting to help improve my academic performance. 

  • As a school teacher, I want to see if there's any courses or activity helpful for my students. Also if there's any good resources or new founds to improve my teaching method.

  • As a parent, I need to see if there's any product to help improve my children's school test result, or college application.

  • As a agent partner, I need to learn quickly about the product lines and and see the potential value of introducing it to my current customer.

  • It’s difficult for different audiences to easily find content that is useful to them.

  • Product lines are not clear to explore

  • Visually outdated and difficult to attract audience engagement. 

  • Bad responsive design with huge text and images.
